Literacy/Topic
A simile creates a picture in the reader's mind by comparing one thing with another using '... like a ...' or '... as a ...'.
EXAMPLES:
Although the giant was as big as a mountain, she was kind.
Bill shot down the street like an arrow.
Look at the picture from Pobble 365 ( picture website) and write five sentences about it. Each sentence must contain a simile.
If the picture inspires you to write a story or poem you could do this on J2Write.

At the moment we are all experiencing a way of life and possibly feelings we have never experienced before. Think of a time when you felt the following petrified, worried, concerned, threatened, nervous, panicky. If you’ve never felt these things try to imagine what could make you feel like this. Now think of a time you were happy, excited, laughing, proud, joyful, loved. If you think you’ve never felt these things imagine what would make you feel this way. Share these with a grown up if you wish or keep them to yourself. Whenever you feel sad, worried, frightened etc remember the happy, excited, laughing, proud, joyful and loved memories you wrote about.
Keep smiling everyone. I know life’s a bit boring for us all at the moment but it wont last forever. Keep chatting to your friends. Take care thinking of you all. Xxx
